Liverpool are top of the league once again.Jurgen Klopp’s Reds flexed their muscles on Saturday evening as they made light work of a new-look Arsenal side, cruising to a 3-1 win at Anfield. The terrifying front trio made hay in the Liverpool sunshine and the Gunners simply had no answer.A second-half brace from Mohamed Salah capped off an imperious performance after a thunderous Joel Matip header gave them the lead in the first half.It was a real statement from the Reds - having come so close to finally breaking their Premier League duck last season, they showed they mean business in 2019/20.

It was their twelfth consecutive win in the league, equalling the clubs all-time record and with a trip to Burnley lying in wait, they will be confident of breaking that record.

With Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino playing the best football of their life, you would expect Liverpool to continue their perfect start to the season.

Burnley’s defence will most likely be preoccupied with trying to shackle Salah though, who is making Premier League football look easy at the moment.

In fact, after his double at Anfield, an incredible stat started doing the rounds on social media.

Having been involved in 77 league games for the Reds, Salah has now been involved in a staggering 77 goals.

57 goals and 20 assists - the man is a marvel.

Even the most optimistic of Liverpool fans will gladly tell you that Salah has completely exceeded any expectation that may have been in place when he signed in 2017.

Since that first goal away at Watford, the Egyptian maestro simply hasn’t been able to stop scoring.

Two golden boots, a UEFA Champions League and a UEFA Super Cup later and the ‘one-season wonder’ brigade have certainly been silenced.

If you don’t know the song, best you learn it - you’ll be hearing plenty of it this season.
