Manchester City returned to winning ways this weekend by beating Bournemouth 3-1 at the Vitality, maintaining their unbeaten record for the season.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring with 15 minutes on the clock before Raheem Sterling netted his fifth of the season soon after.

On the stroke of half-time, Harry Wilson pulled one back for the hosts, becoming the youngest player to score in his first two Premier League appearances since Anthony Martial in 2015.

Any glimmer of hope of a Bournemouth comeback were to be dampened just past the hour mark when Aguero rounded off the scoring and clinched his 400th career goal.

Some achievement for the Argentine.

And it wasn’t just Aguero who hit a 400 milestone on Sunday as David Silva made his 400th appearance for Manchester City.

The Spaniard marked his achievement with two assists and after the game boss Pep Guardiola labelled him as ‘one of the best’ he’s ever worked with.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the 48-year-old said: “He played incredibly well.

“He’s one of the best (I have worked with). He’s one of the best players I ever trained.”

Silva has bagged 54 goals and 85 assists in a City shirt and this season will close the curtains on an impressive spell in England for the 33-year-old.

However, ahead of his 2010 move to Manchester from Valencia, Guardiola admitted that he wasn’t convinced he was making the right decision.

Speaking before the game, via BBC, the City boss said: "Moving in these small spaces, he's really good, one of the best.

"But he's tiny, a little player, not a box-to-box player and my image of England from the outside, I thought 'maybe he's going to suffer'.

"That was my first impression. You can play a good season, but he's done it for 10 seasons, it is almost incredible.

“He's a huge competitor. How he reacts to the bad moments - his specific qualities help him survive in the Premier League. He should be so proud."

Silva and Guardiola now turn their attentions to next weekend as City welcome Brighton to the Etihad.
