Last night's Los Angeles derby lived up to the hype after a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic set the scene alight at the Banc of California Stadium.

‘El Trafico’ - as the clash has become so eloquently known - didn’t disappoint, ending in a helter-skelter 3-3 draw.

There had been a lot of talk in the build-up surrounding the rivalry between LA Galaxy’s superstar and LAFC forward Carlos Vela, who has been making light work of the MLS of late.

While both men scored on the night, it was Zlatan who stole the headlines, netting an easy brace inside the first 15 minutes of the game.

It took just two minutes for the towering Swede to make his mark on the tie, ghosting in behind the defence before coolly slotting home at the near post.

In typically Zlatan fashion, he celebrated in front of the opposing fans making sure they knew who was boss on the west coast.

LAFC were quick to restore parity but it didn’t last long.

Once again Zlatan snuck in behind the defenders and controlled a looping ball beautifully before waltzing around the goalkeeper and stroking home.

Once again his celebrations were unapologetic, raising his arms to taunt the rowdy LAFC faithful.

When Christian Pavon cut in from the left and rifled home to make it 3-1, it really looked like the Galaxy would romp home.

But as every football fan knows, any good derby worth its salt is never over until it’s over.

LAFC were able to wrestle themselves back into the affair and were on level terms in the 55th minute thanks to a low finish from Vela.

That’s how it would end and you can be sure Zlatan would have had a few choice words for his teammates in the aftermath of the final whistle.

Still, a Zlatan double and an enraged opposition fanbase - maybe he really is LA.
