Antoine Griezmann reveals his superb second goal vs Betis was inspired by Lionel Messi

Antoine Griezmann scored his first goals for Barcelona

An Antoine Griezmann inspired Barcelona managed to come from a goal down to thrash Real Betis on Sunday.

Nabil Fekir netted his first goal for Betis to gave them a shock lead after just 15 minutes.

But Barca grew back into the game and Griezmann found the back of the net to ensure the score was level going into half-time.

And the Catalan giants made their dominance count after the break as they scored three times in 10 second half minutes.

Griezmann scored his second goal of the game to give his side the lead, before Carles Perez and Jordi Alba extended their advantage.

Arturo Vidal netted Barca's fifth but it was Betis who got the last word, with Lorenzo Garcia making it a 5-2 victory for the home side.

Griezmann's second goal may have been the best of the game.

The French forward cut inside from the right before curling his effort from outside the box into the corner of the net.

It was a lovely goal and one that was reminiscent of Lionel Messi.

And Griezmann even admitted after the game that it was inspired by his Argentinian teammate.

"Yes, I saw Leo do it in training and I copied him," he said of his goal, per Marca.

Griezmann may have also been practicing that type of goal in training, as the below video suggests.

"After the defeat there were a lot of comments; we had to work this week," Griezmann admitted.

"We woke up after their goal and in the end we played well, with a lot of chances. We enjoyed ourselves and we hope it's always like that.

"We really wanted to play again after Bilbao; we improved but there are still details to work on.

"When important people are missing, the team has to step up and today has been like that.

"I can't do it alone; if I score or give assists it's thanks to my teammates. We're a team.

"It's the best when, in spite of injuries, people who come in can respond."
