VAR has barely been used in the Premier League for a month and it's already causing controversy.

Manchester City, for example, are one team that has already suffered due to it's use.

Against Tottenham, Rodri was clearly taken down by Erik Lamela in the box but VAR deemed it not to be a foul.

It then chalked out Jesus' last minute goal after a questionable handball by Aymeric Laporte in the box.

And it had another part to play this weekend.

Man City could have had a penalty when David Silva had his foot trodden on by Bournemouth's Jefferson Lerma.

And Tottenham should also have been given a spot-kick after Harry Kane was dragged down by Jamaal Lascelles.

On both occasions VAR deemed them not to be fouls.

Manchester United were awarded a penalty against Crystal Palace on Saturday but they could have had a couple more after Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were brought down in the box.

But while it is causing debate, it has provided comical moments in the past.

Last year, cameras cut to an empty VAR room during Real Madrid vs Real Valladolid.

And in the opening week in Greece, VAR referees were spotted receiving a takeaway delivery while a game was ongoing.

Lamia were taking on Panathinaikos in the Greek Superleague when an incident on the pitch went to VAR.

The cameras then panned to the VAR room and it showed them being delivered food.

It makes it even better given this was the first game of the Greek Super League season.

That couldn't have been worse timing for their food to arrive.

If you are wondering what the VAR team is doing whenever a stonewall penalty isn't given, maybe it's because they are too preoccupied with eating rather than concentrating on the game.
