Ansu Fati is a name we should all be keeping an eye on.The 16-year-old made his debut for Barcelona in their 5-2 win over Real Betis on Sunday, becoming the youngest player to feature for the club since 1941.Fati, who needed permission from his parents to be included in Barca’s squad, produced some bright moments in his brief cameo. The Guinea Bissau teenager’s debut came as a result to injuries to Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez. But there’s every chance that, even when Barca’s attackers are fully fit, we’ll see more of Fati this season.

"The truth is that I was very nervous but I only have words of thanks to everyone, the club, the coach and the fans, who have received me very well,” he said at full-time, per the Mirror.

"I looked at my parents, my family, who are the ones who have accompanied me to get here.

“I stayed there in the country because I didn't believe it and now it's time to enjoy the moment and insist that I only have words of thanks."

Fati was involved in Barcelona’s recovery session on Monday and he continued to make an impact.

At Ivan Rakitic’s expense.

The Croatian midfielder was sent for a hot dog by Fati’s deft drop of the shoulder.

Ouch. Put some ice on those ankles, Ivan.

Barca clearly hold Fati in high regard.

The Spanish giants recently rewarded him with a three-year contract which has a €100 million release clause.

The forward grew up in Sevilla - where he started his career - and had interest from Real Madrid.

But Fati opted for Barcelona when they convinced his father that joining their La Masia was the right move.

“Real Madrid offered better money than Barca,” his father Bori told COPE, per Reuters.

“But they were the ones who came to my house with the contract and convinced me.

“When Sevilla found out they were angry and they didn’t play him for a year.”
