Ben Stokes is the talk of the sporting world once again.

The English cricketer was on every front and back page six weeks ago after his heroics in the World Cup final versus New Zealand.

Stokes and Jos Buttler dragged England to victory at Lord's, but the former's performance in the third Ashes Test at Headingley on Sunday arguably eclipsed that memorable day in the capital.

England needed 359 in the fourth innings of the game to complete an unlikely victory and it was Stokes who sealed the win with a ridiculous unbeaten innings worth 135.

Stokes and Jack Leach shared a tenth wicket partnership of 76 in one of the sport's greatest ever comebacks.

So how did Stokes and his teammates celebrate one of English cricket's finest hours? With some McDonald's - £55 worth of the good stuff.

“We celebrated at the ground as a team before we went back to the team hotel to catch up with friends and family,” Stokes told the Mirror.

“Me, Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Rory Burns and Joe Root all jumped in an uber and got £55 worth of McDonald’s drive thru on the way.

“There were quarter pounders and filet ‘o’ fish flying everywhere!”

Well played, lads.

We're sure there were a few beers to go with their burgers and fries as well and it seems Joe Denly was the host of the 'afterparty'.

Stokes added: "Unlike at the World Cup not everybody had their families there but there were plenty of friends and people who had come up and we had a great night, with Joe Denly hosting the afterparty in his room with me, Rooty, Rooty’s mum and dad and Rory Burns. It was a brilliant night."

England have now drawn the series 1-1 and will arrive at Old Trafford on September 4 with the belief that they can get their hands back on the famous urn.
