According to reports in the Italian media, Sao Paulo’s 16-year-old sensation Lucas Piazon is on the verge of signing for Juventus.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder-come-forward, has been tracked by a number of Europe’s elite clubs including Chelsea and Real Madrid over the past year.

Talking up the much sought after players attributes, FIFA agent Sabatino Durante was quoted saying, “He can play as a trequartista or as a forward, or start out wide and cut inside. He is the classic modern trequartista who can adapt himself to various roles in attack.”

Piazon is rumoured to have been in Turin yesterday, finalising a deal that will see the young starlet, dubbed the ‘next Kaka’ move to The Old Lady at the end of the season.

"A year ago Milan were very close to signing Piazon, but various bureaucratic problems meant that nothing happened.

“But Juventus were the team that were most decisive in going for Piazon, overtaking certain big clubs such as Chelsea."

The news will come as a blow to Chelsea fans who so far have been frustrated this transfer window, with no new acquisitions at Stamford Bridge so far this month.

Carlo Ancelotti is still trying to thrash out a deal to bring defender David Luiz to West London from Benfica, and reports in the English media the past couple of days have also suggested that Chelsea have failed in a double swoop for Sergio Aguero and Diego Godin for a combined fee of £52million.
