Neymar isn’t playing much football at the moment, so he needs to do something productive with his time.

The Brazilian forward is holding out for a move to Barcelona, who are currently negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to bring him back to Camp Nou.

There isn’t much time left for Barça to get the deal over the line. The transfer window in Spain closes next Monday.

Ivan Rakitic and Ousmane Dembele could potentially be heading to the Parc des Princes as part of the deal, although this remains pure speculation for the time being.

PSG, though, have yet to use their most famous player this season as they wait for this ongoing transfer saga to reach its conclusion.

Now, Neymar is often described as an actor for his theatrics on the football pitch.

Rightly or wrongly, no footballer is more synonymous with playacting than the 27-year-old.

But Neymar has taken his reputation as an actor to a whole new level by starring in a popular Spanish Netflix TV show called Money Heist (or La casa de papel, ‘The House of Paper’, as it’s known in Spanish).

Money Heist is a crime drama series which revolves around a criminal gang - and the producers have managed to get Neymar on board.

Playing a character called ‘Joao’, the South American appears in episodes six and eight of the new season and is seen wearing the show’s classic boiler suit and Salvador Dali mask combination.

He is also seen in a monk outfit in another scene, which you can watch here…

Give that man an Oscar!

His character also says in another scene, per the Metro, “I don’t like football nor partying. At the World Cup, I always pray for our team.”

You have to admire the writers’ sense of humour there.

In a tweet, Neymar admitted his dream of acting in his favourite series had been realised.

“I was able to realise my dream and be part of my favourite series,” he said. “And now I can share Joao with you all! Thank you @lacasadepapel!”

If his Barça return doesn’t work out, at least he now has acting to fall back on.
