Alexis Sanchez’s Manchester United nightmare is over.

The Chilean has secured a loan move to Inter Milan with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.

It represents the end of a miserable 18 months for Sanchez at Old Trafford.

Back in January 2018, United surprisingly beat Manchester City in the race for Sanchez’s signature from Arsenal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.

But he’s managed just five goals in his 45 appearances for the club while picking up an eye-watering £505,000-per-week - we make than more than £40m Sanchez has been paid by the club.

Despite the move to the San Siro, United will still be paying half of his wages.

At the end of his loan spell, Inter have the option to purchase the 30-year-old for just £14 million - less than half of what United paid for him back in January 2018.

And Sanchez is already making demands in Milan.

Reports suggest that he’s demanded the No. 7 shirt - the same number he wore at Arsenal and United.

The jersey is actually vacant after it was previously worn by Yann Karamoh who is now on a loan spell at Parma.

Interestingly, Alexis will team up with former United teammate Romelu Lukaku, who completed a £73 million move earlier in the summer.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Lukaku has been texting Sanchez ‘every day’ to convince him to join him in Italy.

Lukaku has been telling Sanchez that Milan is a much more beautiful city than Manchester and it seems to have done the trick.

Now, can Antonio Conte get the best out of the United flops?
