Liverpool continue to grow frustrated with their lack of progress in the transfer market.
The Reds have made their interest known in both Ajax striker Luis Suarez and Blackpool skipper Charlie Adam but each protracted move continues to stall as the transfer deadline looms.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has publicly criticised Liverpool for their conduct in pursuit of Adam, while Ajax are still providing a headache for the Merseysiders with the astronomical valuation of their prized asset.
Liverpool director of football strategy, Damien Comolli, has been hard at work trying to thrash out any potential deals but time is running out for the Anfield club.
The January transfer window is a notoriously difficult time to do business, and Liverpool look like they could miss out on their two prime targets.
"The finance is there. Everything is in place but it's difficult to get players out of other clubs at this time," said Liverpool boss, Kenny Dalglish.
"If we do not get anyone it is not for the want of trying."
