Arsenal have enjoyed a fantastic summer transfer window.

In the Premier League window, the Gunners managed to sign Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba, David Luiz, Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Martinelli and Dani Ceballos on loan with a £45m budget.

They've also shipped a lot of deadwood over the course of the summer, such as Alex Iwobi, Laurent Koscielny, David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Mohamed Elneny.

Nacho Monreal left Arsenal for Real Sociedad over the weekend, but for a lot of Gooners it was sad to see the Spanish left-back go.

The latest player to bid farewell to north London is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is set to join AS Roma on a season-long loan.

Mkhitaryan has been poor since arriving in the Premier League three years ago and joining Arsenal from Manchester United in January 2018 didn't seem to help his form.

The best part about the move is that Roma are prepared to pay Mkhitaryan £180,000-per-week, meaning Arsenal only have to contribute £20,000 towards his weekly salary.

Times are changing at Arsenal as Unai Emery looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League places and, in the future, the Premier League title.

At long last, everything seems to be falling into place.

For a long time now Arsenal fans have been calling for certain players to be sold because they're simply not good enough.

Iwobi, for example, struggled to realise his potential at the Emirates Stadium, while Mkhitaryan didn't contribute enough goals or assists for an attacking midfielder.

Another player that's wanted out at Arsenal is Granit Xhaka, who had a nightmare in Sunday's north London derby against Tottenham.

Well, fate could have it that the 26-year-old is the next player to be shown the exit door.

Arsenal's official 2019 calendar is on streak of predicting players to leave the club. It started with Aaron Ramsey in June, followed by Koscielny in July, Iwobi in August and Mkhitaryan in September.

And guess who's the face of October? None other than Xhaka.

Make it happen, Emery.

It's been clear for a long time that Xhaka isn't good enough and after Sunday's calamitous performance, Arsenal's midfield three should be Ceballos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
