The Henrikh Mkhitaryan/Alexis Sanchez swap-deal hasn’t exactly gone to plan, has it?Sanchez left Manchester United for Inter Milan earlier this transfer window, departing Old Trafford with five goals in 45 appearances to his name.As for Mkhitaryan, he has now left Arsenal for Roma after nine goals in 59 matches for the Gunners.

The Armenian has joined the Serie A club, who have agreed to pay a loan fee of £2.7m and the 30-year-old’s wages until the end of the season.

However, there is no obligation for them to sign him permanently next summer.

Mkhitaryan actually came on as a late substitute during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham in the north London on Sunday.

However, with the arrival of Nicolas Pepe and Unai Emery’s willingness to field youngsters this season, Mkhitaryan will find starting berths very hard to come by this campaign.
