Arsenal shot themselves in the foot with individual errors against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Gunners were able to claw themselves back into the game with goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but much of the damage was done during the first-half.

Bernd Leno, often defined by inconsistency, was clearly at fault for Christian Eriksen's opener and Granit Xhaka defied logic to give away a penalty that Harry Kane duly converted.

In the eloquent words of Gary Neville: "Absolute madness from Xhaka from an experienced player who never becomes experienced. He does it week in week out and never learns."

These kind of mistakes are becoming an increasing problem for Arsenal who seem by all accounts to be completely top-heavy.

Arsenal's run of mistakes

While their attack is one of the strongest in European football, their back five is constantly on the brink of dropping a clanger and Xhaka is one of the leading culprits.

The capture of David Luiz has added quality, but also the very inconsistency and susceptibility to errors that made Shkodran Mustafi such a figure of amusement.

Anyhow, rant over, but the statistics support the nature of Arsenal's weaknesses under Unai Emery and no side has made more errors leading to goals since the start of the 2018-19 season.

Most mistake-prone players and clubs

What's more, the player with the most individual mistakes in that period is Leno who - by conceding six goal that were his fault - finds himself below Asmir Begovic as the bottom of the pile.

Xhaka shouldn't think he's safe either, though, having made more errors leading to goals than any player since 2016-17, but we won't rewind that far for these set of statistics.
