Stone Cold Steve Austin's role for next week's WWE Monday Night Raw has now been clarified as he'll moderate the Universal title match contract signing for Clash of Champions.

Last week, WWE announced that Austin would be at their Raw show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 9, but his role on the show was unclear.

During last night Raw, The Texas Rattlesnake revealed exactly what his role will be on the red brand show next week.

He tweeted: "I got an idea. Next week on Raw, let’s complete this Championship Contract Signing, only this time it’ll be moderated by good ol’ Stone Cold Steve Austin. And that’s the bottom line cause I said so."

After Austin's role was confirmed by WWE, Universal Champion Seth Rollins reacted to the news by tweeting: "Oh hell yeah!!"

Rollins and Braun Strowman tried to sign their Universal title match contract signing for Clash of Champions this week on Raw, but they couldn't complete it as they were interrupted by The OC.

Having Austin there to moderate the contract signing next week will be interesting, as he could deliver a few Stunners to the likes of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson if they decide to interrupt for the second week in a row.

When The Texas Rattlesnake makes his appearance on WWE's red brand next week, it will be the third time he has appeared on the show over the past few months.

Austin appeared on the Raw Reunion show back in July, as well as on the Raw episode post-SummerSlam through a Skype call to talk about how Rollins dethroned Brock Lesnar at WWE's biggest party of the summer.

Not too long ago either, Stone Cold did an interview where he asked The Beastslayer to turn up his 'entertainment factor' in WWE, so perhaps we'll see this in action when the two are in the ring together next week.
