Harry Kane was forced to watch back his alleged dive in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.

Just minutes after he fell inside the box under pressure from Arsenal’s Sokratis, Sky Sports’ Geoff Shreeves showed the England captain a replay of the incident.

“It was that stage of the game where you're tired. He makes a tired tackle," Kane said.

“If I'm on the halfway line I will get it. But when you're in the box it's kind of 50-50.

"The ref probably thinks I'm looking for it but all I am trying to do is shield the ball.”

Referee Martin Atkinson didn’t give Kane what he was looking for and it was a decision that the pundits thought he got right.

Gary Neville said it was “essentially a dive” while Graeme Souness added: “I think Kane is looking for a penalty. He is waiting to go down.”

Kane is gathering something of a reputation now and a fan’s video of his ‘top 5 dives’ may only enhance that.

Incidents against Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus, West Ham and Wolves are all highlighted - and they all attempt to portray Kane as a diver.

Here’s the ‘dive’ against Arsenal.

Kane was also accused of seeking a soft penalty in Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle last month and he’s now become the subject of stinging criticism from Craig Burley.

Burley, who made 113 appearances for Chelsea, believes the English media don’t give Kane as much criticism because of his nationality.

“In my opinion he’s dived twice in the last two weeks,” Burley said on ESPN FC, per the Express.

“You can say ‘well he’s drawn contact and he’s clever’ but I’m not going to give it a swerve because he’s the darling of the English media and the English captain.

“He’s thrown himself to the ground the last two weeks.

“If that was Johnny Foreigner years ago, as we’re all reminded of, then ‘we don’t want that kind of thing in the British game, we don’t do that’.

“Well you do, and he does.

The English captain’s a diver, there you go, that’s all you need to know.
