Who is the world’s best football manager right now? It’s a subjective question, so there’s no right or wrong answer. It’s entirely down to personal opinion, although there are a handful of coaches whose names will be mentioned more than most by football fans.Right now, it’s hard to look past Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp for the magnificent work they’re doing at Manchester City and Liverpool, respectively.Elsewhere, you have the likes of Diego Simeone, who has done such a wonderful job with Atletico Madrid since 2011, and Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.Any list ranking the world’s best coaches is bound to cause a stir; however, a recently-published list from Tribuna.com has been slated by football fans on social media.

The list ranks Klopp in top spot, just in front of Guardiola, which is fair enough.

Not everyone will agree but Klopp did win the Champions League with Liverpool last season and lead the club to a 97-point finish in the Premier League - a phenomenal tally but one which still wasn’t enough to see the Reds crowned champions of England.

Simeone is third - again, it’s hard to disagree with that - while Juventus head coach Maurizio Sarri is in fourth spot, presumably because he won the Europa League with Chelsea at the end of last season.

But it’s the order of the names further down the list which has sparked the most controversy.

Ernesto Valverde, who many Barcelona fans would like to see leave the Camp Nou, is in 12th spot - ahead of the likes of Pochettino, Arsenal boss Unai Emery and Ajax’s Erik Ten Hag.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer somehow makes the list at No. 17 - above Torino’s Walter Mazzarri, Ten Hag and Benfica head coach Bruno Lage - despite his dreadful record since becoming Manchester United’s permanent manager.

Bayern Munich’s Niko Kovac at No. 7 has also raised eyebrows, and so too has the decision to put Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers in eight place, above Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Tuchel, Athletic Bilbao boss Gaizka Garitano and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane.

Here’s a selection of the best responses from football fans…
