Teemu Pukki has taken the Premier League by storm this season. The flying Fin has already netted five goals in just four appearances for newly promoted Norwich City.Pukki absolutely dominated in the Championship last season, scoring 29 goals in 43 games as he played a massive role in the Canaries’ promotion back to the top flight. He has made the Premier League look like a breeze too, leaving many an opposing defender for dead in his hunt for the back of the net.The 29-year-old is now second in the running for the Golden Boot, just one goal behind Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero, and well ahead of the likes of Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

It has been a dream start for Pukki, who might just be the subject of a few defensive nightmares in the coming months.

However, for Malaysian broadcasters, the Norwich man is a completely different kind of nightmare.

This is because Pukki’s surname weirdly has a rather profane meaning in Malay slang.

Simply put, the term ‘Pukki’ is a colloquial term for ‘c***’ in the Asian nation.

Oh dear.

Former Liverpool man Stan Collymore confirmed the unfortunate coincidence while working for Malaysian TV channel Stadium Astra.

Incredible.

Poor Teemu will only ever be remembered in Malaysia for his name, and never for his goal scoring prowess.

Either way, the Fin has been a breath of fresh air in the Premier League and we certainly hope he continues banging them in for the rest of the season.

With Norwich languishing in the relegation zone already, they are going to need every goal he can get them.

Some Malaysian broadcasters on the though, might not mind if Pukki’s electric start to life in the top flight fades into obscurity over the coming months.
