Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing his very best to hark back to the glory days at Manchester United.

At every possible opportunity, Solskjaer brings up the Sir Alex Ferguson era and the 1999 Champions League final, in which he scored a dramatic late winner.

In an attempt to replicate Fergie’s tactics, the Norwegian had tried to get United attacking with pace.

With the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James, United now have the speed to trouble any defence.

However, it seems there’s an attacking player at the club that is quicker than that trio.

We introduce 16-year-old Deji Sotona.

According to the Daily Mail, Sotona is now the fastest player at the club having recently smashed a sprint record, previously held defender Diogo Dalot.

In tests at United’s training ground Carrington, Sotona clocked a staggering 22.9mph - more than 1.2mph ahead of second quickest Dalot.

Get him in the first-team, Ole!

Sotona currently plays for United’s U18 side and is backed to make a breakthrough to the senior side in the coming years.

However, at youth international level, he’s represented Republic of Ireland.

Chiefs at the Football Association are aware that he’s also eligible for England and will no doubt be monitoring the situation.

He's no doubt caught the attention of Solskajer, though, who made it clear that pace is very important to the way he wants United to play.

“Pace and power, Man United, that’s what we are,” Solskjaer said four days after arriving at Old Trafford.

“When we have players like we have with pace… that’s how we played with Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Ryan Giggs, and Becks (David Beckham) down the sides. We attack quickly when you can. That’s my philosophy as well.”
