Liverpool target Mamadou Niang has admitted he's flattered by reports linking the Reds with a move.

The Senegal international has been in fine form for Fenerbache in the Turkish Süper Lig following his arrival in the summer, and SkySports claim Liverpool are strongly linked with a move for the player.

A versatile player who is capable in the wing, striker and second striker positions. With nine goals in 14 league appearances for Fener this season, interest in the €8 million rated player is understandable.

"It is flattering to hear the interest of Liverpool, they are a fantastic club with a rich tradition, one of the most amazing clubs in the world," said Niang.

"We all know the anthem of the Kop, it would be fantastic, but I have a contract here and it depends a lot on the club here in Turkey."

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Ajax to sign striker Luis Suarez, but the Anfield outfit are still being linked with a number of attacking targets going into the later stages of the transfer window.

NESV have pledged a sizable transfer war chest in-front of manager Kenny Dalglish, and the Liverpool legend appears to be moving fast in his efforts to build a formidable squad on Merseyside.

Reports in Africa claim the former Marseille ace, who moved to Turkey for €8 million in August, has become a late target for the Reds and could be the subject of a bid similar to the one he moved for in the summer by Liverpool.
