Liverpool's Gini Wijnaldum is making a habit of dropping masterclasses in big games for club and country.

The Dutchman etched himself into Champions League folklore a few months back with a stunning brace in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Barcelona at Anfield.

And last night, the dynamic midfielder was at his brilliant best once again as Holland made the daunting trip to Germany to face their biggest rivals in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

The two European giants went toe-to-toe in Hamburg, but it was the visitors who emerged victorious.

Ronald Koeman's Holland side won 4-2, with Wijnaldum turning in a Man of the Match performance and playing a key role in both the third and fourth goals.

The Liverpool man produced an assist that would have slipped under the radar to the naked eye, but was actually pure genius.

WIJNALDUM'S ASSIST

The way he nonchalantly flicks the ball into the path of PSV youngster Donyell Malen is just brilliant.

After dominating the German midfield alongside Frenkie de Jong, Wijnaldum then decided to burst forward in stoppage time to seal the game - which was Holland's first win in Germany since 2002.

WIJNALDUM FINISHES OFF BRILLIANT COUNTER

Where does he get the energy from? A criminally underrated player.

And just to top it all off, there was a point in the game where the Dutch maestro led three German defenders a merry dance with his strength, balance and skill.

WIJNALDUM GOES INTO 'RUUD GULLIT MODE'

Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry gave the hosts the lead, before Barcelona new boy De Jong surprisingly popped up with the equaliser.

An own goal from Jonathan Tah then put Koeman's side in front, but Toni Kroos equalised from the penalty spot on 73 minutes.

Then we entered 'Wijnaldum time', with the Liverpool man's heroics putting Holland just three points behind Germany in their Euro 2020 qualifying group with a game in hand.

After a few years in the shadows, Holland are back amongst the elite of international football once again.
