Somebody contact FIFA!Is it too late to submit a contender for the 2018/19 Puskas Award? The shortlist may have already been announced but the goal Leandro Carvalho scored today was utterly outrageous.Corinthians were leading 2-1 in the second minute of stoppage time when their opponents, Ceara, were awarded a corner. Most corner takers would have sensibly lumped it into the box at this point and hoped for one of their teammates to get on the end of it - but not Carvalho.

The 24-year-old decided to shoot directly at goal, with the outside of his boot no less.

It was crazy to even try such a thing - especially when your team is 2-1 down in the 92nd minute - but the Brazilian forward has cemented his status in Ceara folklore by scoring.

Watch the incredible goal here…

Insane.

We haven’t seen swerve on a ball like that since Roberto Carlos’s famous free-kick for Brazil at Le Tournoi in 1997.

One fan also managed to capture the goal - a ’Triviela’ to give it its correct name - from the stands…

Corinthians' fans stood next to the corner couldn't believe he managed to score...

That’s two potential 2019/20 Puskas Award winners in the space of a week following Iasmin Latovlevici’s stunning strike for Bursaspor v Eskisehirspor.

Carvalho’s strike might be even more impressive than that one.

The 2018/19 Puskas Award will be won either by Andros Townsend, Lionel Messi or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

But Carvalho might want to start saving for a posh suit ahead of next year’s FIFA awards.
