‘So you’re telling me Pep Guardiola isn’t having an influence on English football?’

This is a meme which has been doing the rounds a lot on social media in recent days and there have been some belting tweets.

It all stems from a clip of Rochdale scoring an excellent team goal a couple of weeks ago. A tweet with the video embedded was posted by a Manchester City fan alongside the caption: “Right so f**king ROCHDALE scored this goal and you’re telling me Pep Guardiola isn’t having an influence on English football??”

Since then people have been taking the mickey by posting videos of random football clips.

We’ve embedded some of the best further down this page.

One of our favourites is this one from @Cristster7, who has found a brilliant clip of two Barnsley fans running onto the pitch and scoring ‘a goal’ during a match against Manchester United in the League Cup back in 2009.

Watch it here…

The addition of Martin Tyler’s famous commentary for Anthony Martial’s debut goal against Liverpool is a nice touch.

Here are a few more of our favourites…

This free-kick from Cheltenham.

Andy from Little Britain scoring a worldie in England training.

Mr Tumble with a Guardiola-inspired beauty in his back garden.

Postman Pat showing that’s he’s secretly an absolute baller thanks to Pep’s influence.

Same with Pingu.

Barnet’s goal away at Stevenage.

And David Brent showing off his skills on The Office.

Football fans on social media at their finest.
