It really has been a torrid 12 months for Sebastian Vettel. After being in good contention to knock Lewis Hamilton off his perch during the 2018 season, he is now struggling to even get on the podium. And that is despite being in a Ferrari car that is easily the second best vehicle on the circuit. The German hasn't won a single Grand Prix this season, with his youthful teammate Charles Leclerc doing a lot better in the same car. He's consistently made silly mistakes and rookie errors, not something you expect from a four-time world champion and a veteran of the sport. It seems without fail that Vettel will make at least one costly mistake per race weekend and it's been no different this time around in Italy at Monza. After spinning off the track going round a corner, the Ferrari man then recklessly drove back onto the track completely oblivious to what was going on around him.The German decided to drive sideways right back onto the track in the way of oncoming traffic, which then caused Lance Stroll to crash into the side of him, completely ruining his race in the process.Within seconds of the incident taking place, Vettel was trending number one worldwide on Twitter, and it's no surprise to see why.

What on earth was he thinking?!

Because of his actions, he received a 10-second penalty, but the bigger picture is what should be concerning Ferrari more.

How long can they keep defending the German when he keeps on making basic errors?

With talk about his future continuously in the headlines, could Vettel be prepared to call time on his illustrious career at the end of the current season?
