The 2018/19 season really was an incredible one for Liverpool Football Club.Jurgen Klopp's side announced themselves as a true European powerhouse, winning the Champions League and finishing second in the Premier League.Had it not been for Manchester City's superhuman run of form at the end of 2018/19, the Reds would have won a historic double. But Liverpool can revel in another victory over Pep Guardiola's side, because they top the table for television money earned last season.According to data collected by Swiss Ramble, the Reds (£152m) pipped City to first place by just £1m, with Premier League sides making up eight of the top 10 places.

LIVERPOOL TOP TV MONEY TABLE

Well played, Liverpool.

As per the Echo, the Reds also earned £100m from winning the Champions League and made £74m from player sales in the summer transfer market.

Not a bad financial situation to be in, eh?

Barcelona and Real Madrid are the only two sides outside of England's top-flight to earn over £100m from television money alone.

Spanish rival Atletico Madrid earned £94m from TV, which was actually £3m less than the lowest total raked in by a Premier league club in 2018/19 - which was Huddersfield's £97m.

That means the Terriers earned more TV money than Bayern Munich, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan last season.

Ridiculous, right?

But don't worry, the split of TV money gets even more baffling the further you look down the list of Europe's top five leagues.

Champions League outfit RB Leipzig actually feature in the bottom 18, earning just £27m.

The lowest team of all is French outfit Dijon on £17m.

If ever you needed proof that the Premier League is domestic football's cash cow, here it is.

While the division may not be the clear winner when it comes to quality of play, there is no denying that England's top-flight rules the roost when it comes to popularity.
