All hail Teemu Pukki. The Norwich City and Finland striker is in the form of his life right now and we’re all here for it.Pukki has seven goals in six games for club and country this season, the latest coming in Finland’s 2-1 defeat to Italy on Sunday. He’s scored for Norwich against Liverpool and Chelsea and also bagged a hat-trick in the Canaries’ 3-1 win against Newcastle United. And he’s continued to hit the target during the international break, scoring the winner for Finland against Greece three days before equalising against Italy.

The 29-year-old has only failed to find the net in one match this season - against West Ham - and he was a deserved winner of the PFA Player of the Month award for August.

Some Championship hotshots fail to cope with the increased standard in the Premier League but not Pukki. He’s been a revelation.

Pukki vs Ronaldo

And Pukki now finds himself being directly compared to Cristiano Ronaldo of all players.

Their statistics since the start of the 2018/19 season have been put head-to-head and Pukki comes out on top in goals, assists, match-winners, braces and goals from open play.

The former Schalke striker has scored 43 goals since the start of last season compared to Ronaldo’s 32.

Forty-one of Pukki’s goals came from open play. Ronaldo? Twenty.

Pukki has more assists (11-10), match-winning goals (11-8) and braces, too (8-6).

Of course, the caveat here is that Pukki was playing in the Championship while Ronaldo was playing in Serie A and the Champions League.

But regardless of the comparison, Pukki’s stats are still incredible.

He was the leading man in Norwich’s promotion to the Championship, scoring 29 goals in the league as Daniel Farke’s side won the title.

And now everyone’s seeing just how good Teemu Pukki is.
