Wilson left to rue wasteful Robins

Swindon manager Danny Wilson was delighted with his side's defensive display after their 0-0 home draw with Exeter but was disappointed with their inability to make the most of their chances.

Striker Charlie Austin, who was sold to Burnley this week, was sorely missed by the Robins as they created some clear chances but failed to put any away with Matt Ritchie coming closest when he hit the bar.

Wilson said: "We seemed to have got it together at one end and lost it down the other. We looked very solid at the back which has been our Achilles heel but we had enough chances to win."

He added: "Some of the football we played was very good but too often the final ball or the final pass let us down.

"Their goalkeeper had one of those games where everything went right for him but we have to feel like that is two points dropped.

"That is two home games in a row and two 0-0 draws which is slightly disappointing because you have to maximise your home games."

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale has happy to come away from the County Ground with a draw

He said: "We are the away team so we have to be happy with a point.

"Swindon had lots of chances, especially in the first half and it was a hard afternoon. It was one of those days when you have to dig deep and work hard and be happy with a draw, although I did not say that to the players.

"Both teams were trying to win the game but we have to be pleased with a clean sheet. I was pleased with our effort and commitment and we looked a lot sharper defensively after half-time.''
