Drew McIntyre has missed the last two weeks of Monday Night Raw and now we know why. It's because he has an injury, but it's only a minor one.

McIntyre missed last week's Raw and he was not backstage at WWE's red brand show last night at Madison Square Garden.

The reason why The Scottish Psychopath missed the last two weeks is that he's currently dealing with an injury, according to reports.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that the word going around the locker room is that McIntyre underwent minor surgery to help fix a lingering injury after the recent tour of Mexico.

WWE hasn't held live events in Mexico since December, but The Scottish Psychopath was there in late August to promote the WWE Supershow scheduled for late November.

WWE wanted McIntyre to undergo surgery as soon as possible so that he would be fresh for the latter part of 2019 and ready to build towards WrestleMania 36 season.

At one point, he had been rumoured for a match against Cedric Alexander at Clash of Champions, but that is obviously off the table now.

However, the report also says that McIntyre is ready to return to the ring and he just needs clearance from WWE's doctors to compete.

Therefore, The Scottish Psychopath could be back in action for WWE on Raw as early as next week if doctors clear him to wrestle again.

McIntyre last wrestled for WWE on the August 26 episode of Raw in a King of the Ring first round match against Ricochet.

He lost the match on that night, and while the result was surprising back then, the injury helps to explain why the defeat took place.

Fingers crossed The Scottish Psychopath is back in WWE next week on Raw to soak up and react to the aftermath of this week's Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
