Great Britain’s men’s and women’s hockey sides have discovered which teams they will face, in order to earn a prized place at the Toyko 2020 Olympics.

For Great Britain’s Women, it will be Chile who will stand between them and their chance to defend their Olympic title in Tokyo next year.

Britain’s women have never played 18th ranked Chile in a major international tournament so it is certainly set to be an interesting fixture.

For Great Britain's men, the FIH Olympic qualifiers draw revealed they will face Malaysia in their final bid to earn an Olympic spot.

GB’s men’s Head Coach, Danny Kerry described Malaysia, who are 11th in the world rankings, as a “good side with some great individuals and a number of threats. Having played them recently gives you that understanding of what that threat is.”

“They have some good corner routines and some very fast players who are individually skilful. They also have some very large aerial passes, play well on the counter-attack and, with a very experienced coach in Roelant Oltmans, will be very well prepared. We will respect them and prepare accordingly.”

The two-legged ties will take place over the weekend of the 1st- 3rd November.

For Ireland, the men's team will face Canada in an away fixture while Ireland’s women will play Canada at home to earn their spot in Tokyo 2020 next summer.

Both of Great Britain's fixtures will be at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London which Danny Kerry hopes will be “a cracking couple of days that myself and the athletes will really look forward to.”

“Having a home crowd is something I personally enjoy and feel the athletes will enjoy having the support behind us too.”

Tickets for the qualifiers are set to go on sale on Monday 16th September and you can find out all of the latest information on how to get them here.
