With ticket sales struggling last month for the first Raw and SmackDown episodes at Madison Square Garden in 10 years, WWE turned to a couple of legends to try and turn things around.Last night we saw Stone Cold Steve Austin make his return to the Garden, a place where he's had many happy memories, including Stunnering Vince McMahon for the first time in 1997.His appearance saw him get a huge pop and Raw looked close to being sold out, but the same couldn't be said for SmackDown.Whilst the blue brand still got a healthy number, several upper areas were tarped off, which is unfortunate but not the end of the world. Many fans thought they knew what was going to happen to Taker on SmackDown after decoding what Bray Wyatt's message on the Firefly Fun House meant during Raw.

Wyatt's clock changed to 11:19, which some worked out as the date that Undertaker debuted on in 1990, and when it was all added up, an appearance from The Fiend on SmackDown was expected.

We didn't get that however - but we did see Taker get interrupted by another superstar.

After The Deadman told the fans he would not have many more moments left at The Garden and the WWE ushering in a 'new era of superstar', he was stopped in his tracks by Sami Zayn.

The Canadian did hint earlier in the week that he wanted to take Taker out, but instead he simply asked him to leave the ring and leave SmackDown to the younger talent like himself.

To the surprise of many, Taker seemed to oblige as he handed Zayn his microphone, but he changed his mind as he saw Zayn laughing to himself in the middle of the ring.

And Sami saw himself on the receiving end of a huge Taker Chokeslam, to the delight of the MSG crowd.

One has to wonder what it does for a younger talent to get laid out by Taker with seemingly no pay-off, and quite a few fans saw it as a waste of using The Deadman.

With the next Saudi Arabia show only a couple of months away though, maybe his next match will be sooner than anyone thinks...
