Vincent Kompany's testimonial put a team of Manchester City Legends against an XI of Premier League All-Stars. The likes of Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero and David Silva were all invited to play for the Belgian's team against some very famous faces from England's top flight.  That 'All-Star' lineup included plenty of former Manchester United heroes to add a bit of extra rivalry to the game.  Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, John O'Shea, Wes Brown, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Robin van Persie all featured. It will come as a surprise to few that Van Persie netted one of the goals during a 2-2 draw, but he's since caught attention on social media for another stunt he pulled.

During the game, the Dutchman was wearing a pair of Man United shin pads.

Despite playing for both Arsenal and the Red Devils, it's clear to see that Van Persie's loyalties lie in Manchester.

The striker's decision to sport some United merchandise went down very well with fans on Twitter.

"I will give up Pogba to have this gunman at my club right now even at the age of 36," one wrote.

"He’s one of us is our Robin," said another. Check out his goal below.

Once a red, always a red it seems.

Van Persie wasn't the only former United player that caught attention last night. Gary Neville was the talk of Twitter after his terrible defending led to City taking the lead.

The right-back tried to step up and play the offside trap when Silva played a pass to Martin Petrov.

The only problem was, none of his teammates shifted up and that left the Bulgarian striker clean through on goal and he made no mistake.

Even Jamie Carragher kicked off at his fellow Sky Sports pundit, shouting 'go with the man!' before blasting Neville in his post-match interview.

"He gave a goal away in the first minute, pulls his hamstring and then after he goes off - we're fine! We were in total control when he went off!"
