Ali Abdelaziz, the agent of UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, has suggested fans and many involved in the UFC are wrong for pushing a fight with Tony Ferguson, claiming a contest with Georges St-Pierre is his client's next destination.

Coming off the back of a submission win versus Dustin Poirier this past weekend in Dubai, fans are already looking ahead to the Russian destroyer's third title defence.

On a similar winning streak in the UFC, Ferguson has been the name on many fans' lips.

With wins against the likes of Edson Barboza, Rafael Dos Anjos, Anthony Pettis, Kevin Lee and most recently Donald Cerrone, Ferguson boasts the record and form to be deserving of a title showdown with 'the Eagle'.

But the champion's agent has other plans for the 28-0 fighter.

"Nobody really cares about what Tony says. Nobody gives a s**t really.

"As far as I know, GSP is next. That is what I want. Tony doesn't get what he wants. We get what Khabib wants, and if Khabib calls me and says he wants Georges St-Pierre, Georges St-Pierre will be next."

Abdelaziz seems confident of luring the Canadian out of retirement and convincing Dana White to book the fight, despite the UFC president suggesting Ferguson is next should he accept the fight.

"If you're going to compare Tony Ferguson, he beat a whole bunch of guys, but he never been a champion. I'm talking about if Khabib is going to fight for legacy, a fight with Georges St-Pierre will be a huge fight.

"Dana White is a business man. That's why he's the best promoter of all time. I think him and Georges St-Pierre make a lot more money and more headlines. People will care more. It's a fight for who is the greatest of all time."

Not shy to express his feelings, the manager went on to give his thoughts on Conor McGregor's recent comments on a rematch.

"Conor is like a sour ex-girlfriend; she can't get anybody else. This is what Conor is. He's irrelevant, and you heard what Justin Gaethje said. He's not a good person. The train has left him."
