The Premier League returns this weekend after an eventful international break and sees three superstars face their former teams for the first time in their new strips.

Harry Maguire will lineup up against Leicester City, a club where he established himself as one of the premier centre halves in world football.

The 26-year-old sealed a record breaking £80 million move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window making him the world’s most expensive defender.

Maguire was scintillating on his debut at Old Trafford, earning the Man of the Match award in a 4-0 victory over Chelsea on August 11.

However, United have failed to keep a clean sheet since then, and the England defender has been criticised for his role in Crystal Palace’s shock win over The Red Devils last month.

Maguire scored five goals and chipped in with four assists in his two seasons at the King Power and kept 16 clean sheets in 69 matches for The Foxes.

The Sheffield-born defender will look to bounce back against his former side after a dismal Tuesday night performance for The Three Lions against Kosovo, which saw England’s leaky defence concede three times in a 5-3 victory against a country positioned 120th in FIFA’s world rankings.

Danny Welbeck will suit up for Watford this weekend as The Hornets take on Arsenal on Sunday at Vicarage Road.

The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his turbulent career, but is currently fit and should feature against his former side under newly appointment manager Quique Flores.

Welbeck scored 16 goals in the Premier League for The Gunners over five seasons and chipped in with 10 assists.

Although the former England striker is yet to find the back of the net for his new club, he will look to make an impact against a defence he will know inside and out from his training days at London Colney.

Andy Carroll will travel to former club Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick off, but will not feature due to injury.

The 30-year-old has not played since February after he underwent ankle surgery and The Magpies are yet to put a timescale on a potential return date for the former England striker.

Carroll netted just six goals in 44 appearances for The Reds as injuries derailed what was once an incredibly promising career.

The Gateshead-born giant sadly never lived up to the hype of his £35 million price tag back in 2011, which at the time was the highest amount paid for a British footballer.

Premier League fans will also get to see Andros Townsend face former club Spurs, Robert Snodgrass will lineup against Villa, Georginio Wijnaldum will take on Newcastle, and Jonny Evans will suit up against United, a club the Northern Irishman made over 130 appearances for over a highly successful 10-year stint at Old Trafford.
