Premier League action returns this weekend after the international break, and with the summer transfer window closed across all of Europe, the leagues now have the players back for their respective clubs, with no incomings or any outgoings at least until January 2020.

Teams battle it out to keep in check their objectives for the season, be it for the title or surviving the relegation battle.

Here are the match previews for Gameweek 5.

LIVERPOOL VS NEWCASTLE

Liverpool remain the only team this season to win their opening four matches and they breezed past Burnley prior to the international break to guarantee their place at the top of the table.

Newcastle registered their sole win so far in four outings against Tottenham when they beat them 1-0 in north London, which could give manager Steve Bruce some hope of causing an upset on Merseyside.

MANCHESTER UNITED VS LEICESTER CITY

After the incredible 4-0 win in the opening weekend at home against Chelsea, much was expected from Manchester United. However, with only two points from a possible nine in the last three outings, Ole Gunner Solskjaer has a tough job in hand ahead.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers will be heavily reliant on James Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy to lead the line at Old Trafford.

SHEFFIELD UNITED VS SOUTHAMPTON

The Blades' incredible 2-2 draw against Chelsea will give them a massive boost going into this game.

Meanwhile, Southampton surprised many coming out with a 1-1 draw against Man United before the international break.

Both teams have one win each from four matches.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS VS CHELSEA

Chelsea will undoubtedly have a tough outing against Wolves at Molineux, with the hosts boasting an impressive undefeated streak of 10 home matches in the Premier League. But, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are yet to register a win this term.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS CRYSTAL PALACE

Tottenham failed to build on the brilliant start against Arsenal and were pegged back, ending the tie 2-2 before the international break. Spurs have now won only four out of their last 16 league games. On a positive note, one of those wins was against Crystal Palace.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION VS BURNLEY

All statistics point to Burnley being the favourites in this tie. Brighton have failed to win 12 of their last 13 matches in the Premier League, and Burnley are undefeated in their last seven matches against the Seagulls in all competitions.

GMB odds - 0-0 draw 33/4

NORWICH VS MANCHESTER CITY

The form Manchester City are in at present, Norwich will find it incredibly tough to contain them for the entirety of the clash. Possibly another difficult evening in the reckoning for the Canaries, with Pep Guardiola’s men aiming to capitalise on the impressive start to the season.

GMB odds - Man City to win 4-0 10/1

BOURNEMOUTH VS EVERTON

The poor form and long list of injuries for Bournemouth could hand Everton the advantage.

Having failed to win their last five away matches, Everton could finally change that statistic as they visit the Vitality Stadium.

GMB odds - Draw 49/20

WATFORD VS ARSENAL

Quique Sanchez Flores returned to the Watford helm after the dismissal of Javi Gracia as head coach, which could see him deploy his preferred 4-4-2 formation, witnessed during his sole tenure previously.

Watford have lost their last four home matches, while the Gunners, failing to secure a win from their last two outings, will focus on getting back to winning ways.

GMB odds - Watford to win 13/5

ASTON VILLA VS WEST HAM

Dean Smith is aware that losing so many home matches this early in the campaign could be the decisive factor at the end of the season, and he will want his team to repeat their performance against Everton at Villa Park.

The Hammers are looking good with three wins recently in all competitions, and with Winston Reid and Michail Antonio the only names on the injury list, the Chilean manager has plenty of options at his disposal.
