Liverpool are pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to free-kick takers.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri and even Virgil van Dijk can be lethal from a dead-ball situation.

Jurgen Klopp usually favours Alexander-Arnold when it comes to free-kicks around the edge of the box.

But is the 20-year-old the best candidate for the job?

Well with the help of the F2 guys and FIFA20, we might finally know the answer.

Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alexander-Arnold faced off in a free-kick challenge.

The goal was split into five sections with the two top corners, two bottom corners and the middle part of the goal acting as targets.

First up Gomez, who has probably never hit a free-kick for Liverpool in his life.

However, rather remarkably, he hit all five targets - and even called them as he was doing so.

Alexander-Arnold looked on in disgust.

Firmino was next up but he could only hit one target from his five efforts.

It was the same result for regular free-kick taker Alexander-Arnold.

Van Dijk then strolled over to gatecrash the competition. Despite regularly taking free-kicks for Celtic and Southampton, the Dutchman hasn’t really been allowed to take them for Liverpool.

He smashed the crossbar with his first attempt before curling his second into the top gap. Off he went to celebrate.

Last up was Shaqiri.

The Swiss beat Firmino and Alexander-Arnold with two successful strikes but got nowhere near Gomez’s full house.

It will be interesting to see how steps up to take a free-kick tomorrow against Newcastle.

Gomez will no doubt be showing Klopp his free-kick taking ability, though.
