Manchester City have dropped points for the second time in the Premier League this season, succumbing to a 3-2 defeat at Norwich City that simply nobody saw coming.

It didn't take long for Norwich to get the party started either, exposing City's weakness from set pieces when Kenny McLean headed home the opening goal after 18 minutes.

But the Canaries weren't simply relying on lumping the ball into the penalty area and caught out Pep Guardiola's men from open play just 10 minutes later.

A dynamic counterattack eventually saw Teemu Pukki racing towards Ederson, before smartly passing across the box to Todd Cantwell and watching as his teammates tapped it home.

Norwich City 3-2 Man City

At this point, there was a damning realisation that City hadn't just allowed their concentration to waver, but were staring at the prospect of dropping points they were predicted to sleepwalk to.

However, the Citizens finally clicked into gear just before half-time and Sergio Aguero effortlessly converted a header from Bernardo Silva's cross into the box.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that City would come flying out the traps and turn things around completely in the second-half, but that certainly wasn't the case.

Man City five points behind Liverpool

Norwich eventually bagged their third goal of the evening in pantomime fashion when Nicolas Otamendi conceded possession on the edge of his own penalty area.

It was a catastrophic error that culminated in Pukki stabbing the ball into the net, allowing him to extend his Premier League tally to a seriously impressive six after just five games.

And it wasn't until the closing moments that City finally broke though the Norwich defence again, eventually clawing one back when Rodri scored his first goal in English football.

It is, of course, a massive result for Liverpool who remain at the Premier League summit with a five-point lead and early advantage in the title race.
