It was an afternoon to forget for Everton as Bournemouth gave them a sound south coast beating.A Callum Wilson double consigned the Blues to their second defeat of the season as their stuttering  bid to gatecrash the top six continued.Dominic Calvert-Lewin's strike at the end of the first stanza proved to be no more than a consolation, with the Cherries closing out the tie in the second 45.Everton are now rooted in the middle of the table, their tally of seven points after five games leaving them in eleventh.After making some exciting signings, it has been a disappointing start to what promised to be a very good season.

There is still plenty of time to turn it around, and you would expect the likes of Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi to grow into their roles, but, for now, the signs aren't good.

For a certain Fabian Delph especially, these really are new surroundings.

Having signed from champions Manchester City, the midfielder has been thrust into the kind of situation he would have never experienced in Manchester.

The frustration showed in the first half too, when the Englishman pulled no punches as he yelled out;
"everybody is f***ing s*** right now!"

He wasn't wrong, the Blues were pretty awful at stages, however, his outburst would soon come back to bite him.

That is because in the second half Delph's nightmare was compounded as he deflected a Ryan Fraser free-kick into his own net after an ugly hack with his wrong foot.
