I know, I know, it's what we're all thinking: Arsenal are going to win the Premier League. The Gunners were just so indescribably brilliant during their inspired 2-2 draw at Watford that dethroning Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is nothing short of an inevitability. We are, of course, being sarcastic and that's the only lens through which Arsenal fans will be able to find anything positive about their performance at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.Arsenal completely bottled a 2-0 lead with mistakes from Sokratis Papastathopoulos and David Luiz allowing Tom Cleverley and Roberto Pereyra to level the scores. However, despite the countless negative moments in the game and the damning statistics that have emerged since, an Arsenal fan named Tom probably read our opening line literally.

The latest viral Arsenal fan

If this is starting to sound familiar then you're probably on to something because the very same Arsenal fan called BBC Radio 5 Live after the North London Derby.

On that occasion, Arsenal were on the right side of a 2-2 comeback, but it was still incredibly laughable to suggest that the Gunners would go on to win the league.

"I reckon we'll win the league this season," the supporter explained two weeks ago. "In my opinion, compare us player-to-player with Man City and Liverpool we're actually superior."

Arsenal to finish above Man City!?

But if you think that Arsenal's collapse at Watford would change Tom's outlook, then you're completely wrong because he made another appearance on the radio this weekend.

Defending his opinion in a heated back and forth with Robbie Savage, the Gooner confirmed that he still thinks Arsenal will win and that - brace yourself - they're more likely to than City.

"We're going to go far this season," he remarked with defiance. "At the end of the day, we've gone to a Watford side who are revitalised right and got a point. Look at Leicester, look at what they did.

"In my opinion, it's a lot more delusional to say that a team [Manchester City] that's just gone out and lost to what's effectively a Championship side has a better chance of winning the league in comparison to Arsenal."

The unsurprisingly shocked Savage then sought clarification and upon asking whether the fan thinks Arsenal will finished above City, Tom simply responded: "I'm absolutely sure of it.

"If I was a City fan seeing my team get absolutely torn apart against a Championship side, I'd be worried but people calling up saying City will win the league, that's not laughable, but an Arsenal fan, oh yeh."

We're probably as lost for words as you are and Savage actually handled the situation pretty well, kindly remind Tom that this was a City side who had won the last two league titles.

For now, Arsenal need to focus on reaching the Champions League places and while it most certainly remains early doors, there's clearly a lot of work that needs to be done.

But there is, admittedly, part of us that would love it just for the absolute hilarity if Tom was correct.
