It seems Liverpool are well and truly back on their perch.

The Reds have been crowned champions of Europe and were just one point away from winning their first-ever Premier League title in 2018/19.

They've made a very good start to the new campaign, looking to go one better domestically this year.

After rivals Manchester City suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to Norwich City at the weekend, Liverpool are five points clear at the top after the same number of games.

It's very early, but things are looking good for Jurgen Klopp's team.

The German manager has been key in turning Liverpool back into genuine contenders and so too has defender Virgil van Dijk.

It's hard to suggest where the club would be without that pair and luckily for supporters, we don't have to.

But according to reports from Spain, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking to tempt Van Dijk and Klopp away from Anfield.

Per AS, both superclubs are plotting moves that would shake-up the football world and are ready to break the bank to make it happen.

With Zinedine Zidane and Ernesto Valverde under pressure in Spain, it's believed both Barca and Madrid have looked to Klopp as an incredible alternative.

Van Dijk, who has been remarkable since joining the Reds, is also on the radar of La Liga's two most famous sides, per the AS report.

The prospect of losing Klopp and Van Dijk will be absolutely terrifying for Liverpool fans.

But given how well the team are playing, moving away from Anfield to almost any other club would be a step down right now.

Liverpool are the current Champions League holders and have already put themselves in pole position to win the Premier League this season.

Why would Klopp and Van Dijk want to go anywhere else right now?
