History will be made next month when National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) team, Houston Dash, travel to Mexico to take on Tigres UANL Femenil at the Estadio Universitario in Monterrey.

It's the first time in the history of the NWSL that a club will play outside of America. The international friendly fixture will be played on October 5 during a league break, meaning that Dash won't be missing out on any NWSL action.

The game will be a massive occasion for not only the teams but both leagues. For the first time in history, America's female club football will come face to face with Mexico's, therefore allowing comparison between the two.

A friendly between clubs of different leagues can only help improve the women's game. Those in charge of the NWSL and Liga MX Femenil will have all eyes on this fixture, looking to benefit from where the other may excel.

As well as a learning curve, the fixture will also give fans of both teams chance to experience club football in a new way. Mexican fans will look forward to watching an American club full of World Cup talent, and fans from the U.S. can experience women's football in a hugely famous Mexican stadium.

The game will be played in Estadio Universitario, otherwise known as El Volcan, in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. With a capacity of 42,000, the stadium hosts the Tigres UANL men's games as well as some women's. Both teams will be looking forward to playing on one of Mexico's main football stages.

England's Rachel Daly will be making the trip over from Houston to Mexico. The Dash forward has already scored five goals this season, and fresh from an excellent World Cup performance with the Lionesses will be looking to help secure a win on foreign soil. Alongside Daly, Mexican-American Sofia Huerta has also bagged five goals for Dash so far this year.

Tigres UANL Femenil is currently sitting third in the Liga MX Femenil table and is currently undefeated in the league. If they can become league champions this season, it'll be their third consecutive league win.

With both teams in top form, the friendly is shaping up to not only be a historical event but an electrifying one.
