Tyson Fury rewarded his cutman Jorge Capetillo a bonus after the Mexican prevented the referee from stopping his fight with Otto Wallin this weekend.

The Gypsy King suffered a huge cut above his right eye in the third round of his clash with the Swede on Saturday night.

But the Brit battled on in the fight all the way to the 12th round where he claimed a points victory over Wallin.

Following his victory, the 31-year-old – who remains confident he will be ready for the scheduled rematch against Deontay Wilder in February – showed his gratitude to his cutman by rewarding him a cash bonus.

Capetillo, who was working with Fury for the second time, told TMZ Sports: "I knew they could stop the fight, I knew I had to keep it clean.

"If it stays clean then I knew they would let it go round by round.

"Fury was winning round by round so I kept it clean and the doctor and the ref looked at it and it was OK, but it was the worst cut I have seen.

“I wanted to make sure when he got punched the Vaseline went in.

"It was a big tub of Vaseline! It was so deep man, I tried to hide it a little bit so the doctors didn't see it.

"He said thank you for your effort to stop the bleeding so I could keep fighting - he showed me a lot of love.

He gave me a bonus that's for sure. I saw him on Sunday morning at his house. I went to see how he was doing.

Fury may require plastic surgery in order to have the gash suffered on Saturday night cut open again and restitched.

Even after his latest victory in the ring, Fury’s dad wasn’t happy with his son’s trainer Ben Davison because of how they prepared for the fight and claimed it could have ended his son’s career.
