Dimitar Berbatov has officially announced his retirement from football.

The Bulgarian international took to Instagram to announce his decision.

"I did it my way!" He wrote.

"Although when i think about it, its never The End, because i will stay in the game in one way or another, the time has come to say that after almost 20 years playing football i am stoping with my professional ACTIVE football career!

"I will miss it! I will f****** miss it! Everything! The games, trainings, the goals, preparations, the pressure, my teammates... the roar of the fans when i scored another banger.

"Thank you to all the people who helped me develop, and became the player I always wanted to be!

"I hope you all have enjoyed my game, and everything i gave to entertain you on the pitch! 👊🏻 Damn it, I will miss all of this, people, because I love football so much... But I am sure you will miss me as well. Thank you!"

Berbatov was one of the most technically gifted players in Premier League history.

He had a ridiculous first touch and although he wasn't quick, scored a bundle of goals during his career.

He remains highly regarded at all three of the clubs he played for in England's top tier: Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

And on the day of his retirement we have decided to list some of his best moments as a footballer.

HIS INCREDIBLE ASSIST VS WEST HAM

Berbatov was so good he had a skill named after him: 'The Berba Spin'.

He produced one of the Premier League's best ever assists with his skill against West Ham.

The ball looked like it was going out of play but the Bulgarian kept it in and bamboozled the defender in the process, before giving Cristiano Ronaldo an easy tap-in.

HIS INCREDIBLE TOUCH VS ASTON VILLA

Berbatov also produced one of the best touches in Premier League history as he took down a cross field pass with ease.

HIS HAT-TRICK VS LIVERPOOL

Berbatov single-handedly destroyed Liverpool for Manchester United back in 2010.

The second was the pick of the bunch as he produced a pin-point overhead kick.

HIS LOB FOR MONACO VS NICE

When Berbatov went to Monaco he was past his best and nearing the end of his career.

But he showed he still had it with a ridiculous lob against Nice in 2014.

HIS OVERHEAD KICK VS SUNDERLAND

Berbatov had a knack of scoring great goals and he produced one against Sunderland with a brilliant overhead kick.

Happy retirement, Dimitar Berbatov. One of the most technically gifted players the Premier League has ever seen.
