Gone are the days where WWE saves a marquee matchup strictly for pay-per-views, as Bray Wyatt's The Fiend and Seth Rollins faced each other at a house show this weekend.Wyatt is scheduled to face Rollins next month at Hell in a Cell for the Universal Championship. This will be his biggest match since he returned to the ring earlier this summer. However, WWE fans have already received a taste of what's to come in that match, as the two faced off against each other inside the squared circle on Friday night. The Fiend took on The Beastslayer at a house show in Calgary, but neither superstar ate a pin to conclude the match.Instead, Wyatt locked in the Mandible Claw on Rollins in the corner of the ring past the referee's five-count, resulting in a disqualification.

That wasn't the end of the confrontation though, as after the match, the Universal Champion landed numerous superkicks and stomps, but The Fiend initially kept getting up after each one.

Rollins was finally able to put down Wyatt. He then went over to get a closer look at The Fiend, but he was caught again with the Mandible Claw.

This feud between Rollins and Wyatt began last weekend when The Fiend attacked The Beastslayer following his successful Universal title defense against Braun Strowman at Clash of Champions.

Then, on last week's Raw, it was confirmed that Rollins would defend the Universal Championship against The Fiend at Hell in a Cell on October 6 in a Hell in a Cell match.

Unlike at Friday night's house show, the Hell in a Cell stipulation means Wyatt won't be forced to break his Mandible Claw hold if he's able to grab hold of Rollins during the match.

This recent house show match could be a dress rehearsal of what's to come during the Universal title match at Hell in a Cell, but plans always change in the WWE.
