England battled back and took the lead once again after 23 minutes.

Manu Tuilagi's charge forward led to a good chance for Sam Underhill and it looked almost certain that he would score England's first try of the tournament.

But he was held up on the goal-line as Tonga held firm.

However, from the resulting scrum, Tuilagi powered forward and England were not to be denied for a second time. That was the Leicester Tigers centre's 15th try for his country.

Farrell missed his conversion attempt and from the restart Tonga had the opportunity to cut the deficit to just three when Maro Itoje gave away a penalty.

Jones banged his desk in frustration but England were given a let off when Takulua missed the resulting kick.

And England made them pay with as they raced away for their second try of the game just after the half-hour mark.

A beautiful passage of play involving Elliot Daly and Jonny May led to Tuilagi charging away to score his second try of the game.

This time Farrell made no mistake as he gave his team a 15-3 lead.

England's superiority was really starting to show and they went into a commanding 18-point lead after Farrell converted penalties either side of half-time.

England then got their third try of the game just before the hour-mark through Jamie George.

The Saracens hooker found his teammate, George Kruis, from a line-out and the former went over the try-line after Tonga failed to stop England's driving maul.

England were pushing for one more try to secure a bonus point and it looked as if they would get it after Anthony Watson's superb breakaway.

His lung-busting run led to a golden opportunity, but Henry Slade was unable to find Elliot Daly with the try-line at his mercy.

But that didn't prove costly as Luke Cowan-Dickie finished the job with just a few minutes remaining.

Jonathan Joseph found space through the middle and his pass allowed the Exeter Chief to give England their fourth try of the game.

The game eventually finished 35-3 to England. Their performance wasn't perfect by any means, but it's still a great start to England's campaign.

They have now hit the front in Pool 3 after France beat Argentina 23-21 on Saturday.
