It’s a new era for Chelsea under Frank Lampard.

Following their transfer ban this summer, the Blues were unable to strengthen a squad that finished 27 points off champions Manchester City last season.

Instead, Lampard would have to rely on the plethora of young talent that was returning to Stamford Bridge after loan spells.

But when those talents include the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, you can’t exactly feel sorry for Chelsea.

However, any team in the world will feel the effect of losing a talent like Eden Hazard and not being able to replace him.

The Belgian had been Chelsea’s star player for the past seven seasons having established himself as one of the best players in world football.

But in the summer, he jumped ship to join Real Madrid for a fee of around £130 million.

But there’s still a place of him in the hearts of Chelsea fans, it seems.

That’s because the Matthew Harding lower stand unveiled a huge Hazard banner ahead of kick-off against Liverpool on Sunday.

It prompted the travelling Liverpool fans to sing: “What the f**king hell is that?”

The banner reads: “Eden Hazard” and shows an image of him performing his tradition knee slide celebration.

And it didn't go well down with Chelsea fans - or rivals.

It was often seen at Stamford Bridge on matchdays last season but it did seem very strange for them to unfurl it after he has left the club.

But it seems that it was all one big mistake.

WeAre_TheShed have claimed on Twitter that the wrong bag was picked up and that the Hazard banner shouldn’t have made an appearance.

It was ultimately an accidental tribute to one of the club’s greatest ever players…
