The first round of matches have all taken place at this year's Rugby World Cup in Japan, and there have already been some standout performances.

With every team having played once, Sky Sports have put together their Team of the Week, and you can see it in its full down below!

Forwards

1 - Cian Healy (Ireland)

Ireland’s win against Scotland at the weekend had a lot to do with the way their forwards played. Healy was an integral part of that, making seven tackles and recovering one loose ball.

They excreted their control of the game with great defence which allowed them to excel at the breakdowns, riding out as comfortable winners and securing the bonus point.

2 - Tolu Latu (Australia)

Australia’s hooker was excellent for them against Fiji - he scored twice from driving mauls including the one that secured the important bonus point for the Wallabies.

Tonga-born Latu beat two defenders and managed an offload to add to his scoring. The 26-year-old was strong defensively too, he managed five tackles whilst helping Australia earn victory in their opening game.

3 - Juan Figallo (Argentina)

Figallo was good for Argentina despite defeat to France.

In a close-run battle, the prop’s defensive display was impressive, helping his side win six scrums. Individually, he helped himself to 10 tackles.

4 - Guido Petti (Argentina)

Figallo’s forward partner Petti was also hugely important to his side. He scored a try and worked tirelessly all game long.

He had the longest carry for his side on the day, managing to carry the ball 53 metres whilst beating three defenders and making a break upfield. Ultimately, it was in vain as Argentina didn’t quite manage to secure the comeback - losing 23-21 having been 17 points down at half-time.

5 - James Ryan (Ireland)

Ryan was vital to Ireland’s Home Nations victory at the weekend in Yokahoma. He scored the first try of the match and was a massive part of the team’s performance.

He made 14 tackles - which was the joint highest for his team - and the Leinster lock was dominant in the line out, where he won four and stole one as well. His 14 carries ensured that it was a good day all-round as they won 27-3.

6 - Ardie Savea (New Zealand)

Our first Kiwi in the Team of the Week is Savea - who was incredible on both sides of the ball. New Zealand are looking to win a hat-trick of World Cups and performances like this will ensure they have a chance.

The number six made 42 metres from nine carries, beating five defenders and making a clean break. Defensively, he made eight tackles and won two turnovers.

7 - Tagir Gadzhiev (Russia)

Russia may be relatively new to the Rugby World Cup, having only qualified once before in 2011, but they did themselves no harm here - despite defeat to the hosts Japan in the opening game.

Gadzhiev played a key part to that - he was particularly effective in the line outs, winning three and central to most of the attacks for Russia having 12 carries.

8 - CJ Stander (Ireland)

Stander becomes the last forward in the Team of the Week - which now includes three Irishmen, although, this one was born in South Africa. He too was a monster defensively, whilst also contributing a lot on the attack as well.

The back row made 10 tackles against Scotland and from 16 carries produced 42 metres, beating one defender and making a clean break.

Backs

9 - Antoine Dupont (France)

Dupont becomes the first Frenchman in the team due to his excellent play from scrum-half for France. His try helped them to an important victory, despite a second-half fightback from Argentina.

Toulouse’s 22-year-old made 12 carries for 51 metres, three clean breaks and beat two defenders in a very exciting performance.

10 - Richie Mo’unga (New Zealand)

New Zealand have changed their line-up for this World Cup and it paid dividends here, with Mo’unga replacing Beauden Barrett - who moved to full-back - at fly-half. His performance secured an important victory in the biggest game of the weekend, against formidable rivals South Africa.

Pool B was always looking interesting with both of these teams in it and Mo’unga rose to the occasion. His kicking was impeccable, making two penalties and two conversions along with 38 metres from seven carries. He also made one clean break and beat a defender.

It wasn’t all attack for the Crusaders man, who also helped himself to a turnover.

11 - Kotaro Matsushima (Japan)

In what was already a memorable day for Japan, this man made it even better. His personal display was brilliant, scoring a hat-trick of tries as the hosts got their World Cup off to a flying start against Russia in the capital.

A personal milestone for Matsushima was his hat-trick, but he was also brilliant in everything else too. He made 112 metres, beating eight defenders and made a joint-top four clean breaks for the Cherry Blossoms.

12 - Gael Fickou (France)

The second Frenchman in the team is centre Fickou - which might surprise some considering he might’ve lost the game for France with the penalty he conceded. He is forgiven this mistake though due to dominant display for the other 79 minutes of the game.

With Argentina struggling to contain him, Fickou scored one try for his team. He also produced five clean breaks and nine tackles for his side.

13 - Manu Tuilagi (England)

The first and only English player in the team is Tuilagi, thanks to commanding display from centre for his side. Manu managed two tries in the first half as he steamrolled the Tonga defence during the clash in Sapporo. He made 88 metres from 11 carries, beat six defenders and made three clean breaks.

England may have looked unconvincing at times, but they got the job done and secured a bonus try point in the process. The Leicester Tigers man missed the last World Cup due to being dropped for his behaviour off the field, but got back to what he is best at here.

14 - Andrew Conway (Ireland)

Munster winger Conway secured the all-important bonus point for his team against Scotland. He helped Joe Schmidt’s team put themselves in a commanding position in Pool A with a strong performance.

He was difficult for Scotland to handle on the day with three clean breaks from out wide.

15 - Beauden Barrett (New Zealand)

Barrett played a vital role for the All Blacks as they triumphed over South Africa in Yokohama. As mentioned before, Barrett was moved to full-back to accommodate for Mo’unga, but the decision was justified with both of them excelling.

He was one of the most active players during the game with 17 carries, beating seven defenders. His performance proves the New Zealand coach right about his decision to play his former fly-half here.
