Name a better combination than Sergio Ramos and the FIFPro World XI? We'll wait.

Regardless of whether the Real Madrid captain has a good season or not, he always seems to make the cut for the prestigious honour.

Ramos' 2018/19 was one of the worst of his glittering career, with Los Blancos ending the season trophyless and finishing third in La Liga.

The fact that Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Aymeric Laporte and more were shunned for the Spaniard this time around has left many fans around the world baffled.

Never underestimate the brand power of Real Madrid, with Marcelo and Luka Modric dubiously included in the XI as well.

And Ramos' three votes for the FIFA Best Player award have also raised a few eyebrows.

Fellow Real Madrid teammate Eden Hazard was his number one vote, with Cristiano Ronaldo in second.

But have a guess who was in third? None other than Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, as per FIFA's official resources.

Now, unless you have spent the last two years under a rock, you'll know that Ramos and Salah aren't exactly the best of friends.

Ramos was accused of deliberately injuring Salah in the 2018 Champions League final, with the Egyptian declaring that he has not forgiven the centre-back for his actions in Kiev.

Knowing Ramos, this is probably just him playing mind games.

Salah did attract a number of votes from various nations' captains, including both Stefan Savic (Montenegro) and Marek Hamsik (Slovakia), with both ranking him as their number one choice.

Liverpool were fairly dominant at the award ceremony too as Jurgen Klopp was awarded the Best Manager and Alisson Becker as the Best Goalkeeper.

But despite being the heavy favourite, Virgil Van Dijk was beaten to the Best Player accolade by Lionel Messi.
