He may have been one of the best heels of the last year, but it looks like Daniel Bryan's run as a bad guy is no more. When Bryan turned heel in November 2018, it was a much-needed transition out of his worn-down good-guy character, and it was a move that he had reportedly pushed for for a long time.Bryan's early heel work was generic, but it evolved into something greater as he became 'The Planet's Champion' and ranted on a weekly basis about how WWE fans and other wrestlers were harming the environment.Whether it be as WWE Champion or Tag Team Champion, Bryan and Erick Rowan have been prominent on SmackDown throughout 2019, but that partnership has dissolved in recent weeks.Due to Rowan's attacks on Roman Reigns, Bryan has parted ways with the red-headed giant, and has been feeling the full force of Rowan and Luke Harper in recent weeks as the former Bludgeon Brothers have re-united.

It was much of the same on SmackDown last night as Bryan faced Rowan in the opening match, and thanks to some interference from Harper, Rowan got the win.

There were signs that the WWE fans were really getting behind Bryan again though, with multiple YES chants breaking out throughout the match, and he received help off an unlikely ally after his loss.

After Reigns charged down the ramp to save Bryan from another beating, he asked the fans for a one-word answer on whether they'd like to see the two team up to beat Rowan and Harper's 'disrespected asses'.

With Bryan leading a YES chant, it seems to have officially confirmed his babyface turn - but for how long?

There's a conspiracy theory rife that at Hell In A Cell, Bryan will turn on Reigns when they face Rowan and Harper and lead the latter pairing as a heel trio going forward.

It's an entirely plausible thought but the San Francisco crowd last night wanted the good guy Bryan we all saw for a number of years - so maybe it's going to stay that way for a while.
