WWE will usher in a new era next week as huge changes are about to occur.

As it has been widely advertised for months now, SmackDown is moving homes and last night was the final episode on the USA Network.

It will switch over to a network with a higher reach in the form FOX, and it will also revert to being broadcast live on a Friday night for the first time since 2015.

A host of legends are advertised for the debut episode on October 4, and a huge clash for the WWE Championship between Kofi Kingston and Brock Lesnar - who is set to become a SmackDown-exclusive star - is going to main event.

And a week later the WWE Draft will start, bringing an end to the Wild Card Rule and enforcing a new hard brand split, which makes sense considering the two shows will now be competing against each other on different platforms.

The changes will be coming in much sooner than next week's SmackDown though, and we aren't just talking about the return of pyrotechnics to WWE.

According to WrestleVotes, we have seen the current entrance stages of Raw and SmackDown for the very last time.

As of the September 30 edition of Raw, both shows will have brand-new stage sets, in addition to new logos, graphics and seemingly new theme songs.

The last time we saw an update in WWE hardware was shortly after the 2016 Draft, but with the added funds of FOX it seems like the company are upping the ante when it comes to production values.

The upcoming return of pyro has got fans excited and new titantrons for the shows also creates intrigue and excitement as to what they're going to look like.

Some WWE fans are probably hoping for the return of the giant SmackDown fist, but considering it was taken away due to WWE going HD in 2008, it's unlikely to come back.

Keep your eyes glued though - the closer it gets to Raw next week the more likely any spoilers regarding the new sets will come out.
