Tottenham suffered a shock defeat to Colchester in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino's men have had a rocky start to the season but were expected to easily defeat a team 70 places below them in the Football League.

The Argentine even fielded a strong team featuring the likes of Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.

However, they failed to break down the League Two outfit during the 90 minutes, meaning the game went to penalties.

And Christian Eriksen and Lucas' misses meant they were dumped out of the competition.

Their defeat cost one punter an extremely large amount of money.

@JoshBeckham9 decided to put £1 on a 20-fold accumulator on Tuesday night.

The chances of winning were extremely slim. If all the results came in he would have won £13,000.

He bet on a variety of teams in a whole host of leagues, including Club Sportivo Barracas v Argentino de Rosario and St Potten vs Mattersburg.

And, incredibly, 19 of those came in. But only one team let him down: Tottenham.

If Spurs had beaten Colchester, as they were easily expected to do, Josh would be £13,000 better off.

But their failure means he won nothing. Absolutely sickening.

Josh would have put on the bet for fun rather than expectation. But given how it all ended, he must now wish he never put it on at all.

Josh will be disappointed, but he perhaps won't be as devastated as Jack Baines was, a 22-year-old from Scunthorpe.

Last month, Jack put on an accumulator that would have won him £98,500 if it came in. And it did - the only problem being he lost his nerve early on and cashed out for £200. Read his story by clicking on this link.
